'China' is a character played by Thomas Middleditch. Not much is know about him other than that he is an overtly stereotypical Chinese man with an enigmatic career and an ever-changing real name. While he most recently claimed his name was "Xian Chiang", he has also called himself "Xian Shun Tsoi" (correctly spelled in wingdings font) and "Tzu Shung".
Scott initially called China on the telephone so that he and his guests could ask a question about Chinese culture. China is willing to speak on his culture's behalf, and claims to be a representative for the entire nation (hence his nickname). He will also call Earwolf Studios unprompted to ask survey style questions about smartphones. He claims to have a secret live-feed of the inside of the podcast studio, and uses it to spy on Scott and his guests.
China is short-tempered and somewhat pretentious. He looks down on Scott and other Americans for being "so fat and stupid". He practices Tai-Chi (often while on the phone) and enjoys the works of actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He once claimed to "know everything", but later, after not getting a reference to the Holocaust, he clarified that he had no knowledge of Western European history. Although he once commented that he thought Kumail Nanjiani sounded "sexy", he is a self-proclaimed heterosexual. He owned a motor scooter, but it caught fire.
